Rini is celebrating its 40th anniversary as a company!
Rini was founded in 1982 and had its first premises in a residential house just outside Stockholm. The founders had worked at Telecom company Ericsson and saw the need for ergonomic aids to avoid stress injuries in the monotonous work assembling circuit boards. The first products developed and sold was the raw model of “the still going strong” ergonomic armrest “Rilis”.
Then as now, Rini’s mission is the same, with great emphasis on the ergonomic work environment. The last 20 years the focus has shifted to medical ergonomics for various types of Microsurgery such as Eye, ENT, Neuro, Plastic, Dental and Robot Surgery.
Our smart armrests today are mainly used on our Carl surgical chairs and are developed for a variety of applications and working positions. Neurosurgeons sit for certain operations with their arms high up, they have large armrest plates and the ability to fine-tune the height and angle themselves during surgery with sterile-covered armrests. In ophthalmology, surgeons have smaller armrests at a lower position and closer to the body. Our “One-grip” R7 armrests have in recent years also become very popular for many variants of robotic surgery, including in Urology.
Rini can today meet many of the requirements of our professional customers and we are working closely with many clinics and hospitals to improve further.
I can promise that Rini will continue to develop and deliver the best ergonomic products for many years to come.
